As the founder of this company, I think it's important to stay true to who I am. I've been involved in music since I was a toddler, have been a small business owner for over a decade, and started teaching in the fitness industry several years ago. Hey Sunshine is my way of combining several facets of my life, and I look forward to sharing those with you!

I have both a bachelor's and master's degree in music (oboe performance). I've been teaching private oboe and piano lessons for 20 years now, and am also an active freelance oboist in the tri-state area. In addition, you can often find me around Woodbridge Township providing cocktail piano music for local events and gallery openings. In 2011, I co-founded Professional Music Academy, which quickly grew to be one of the largest music schools in the area; in 2016, I made the difficult decision to scale smaller and branch off into my own private studio. Happy Bamboo Music Studio has brought me so much joy; my students have ranged in age from 4 to 82 and come from all walks of life. I love working with each student to develop both short-term and long-term goals, and I strive to teach in a meaningful, impactful way.

On the fitness side of things, I got involved in 2017, when I decided to take a POUND certification training. I started working for a fitness studio in Woodbridge, and eventually started teaching barre and spin classes there as well. In a surprising turn of events, I realized that I love coming up with challenging barre tracks, and enjoy the added adventure of finding great songs to use. I'd been kicking around the idea of doing an online barre video subscription series for a while, so when an opportunity (the shutdown of March 2020) presented itself, I decided to go for it! In 2021, I became a certified personal trainer; you can find me training clients and doing mobility coaching at Bounce Back Fitness (at both the Metuchen and Woodbridge locations).

This company was initially formed with the intent of being a "one-stop shop" for all of your musical needs; you can book musicians for events and special occasions, sign up for private music lessons, or purchase oboe reeds and processed cane. Since the company has expanded to include fitness offerings as well, you can also hang out with me at the barre, book an instructor for a pop-up fitness class/fundraiser/workshop, or set up a group fitness class for you and your friends!
